With the recent update to Left4Dead, we are now able to package our files into a handy .VPK file. This gives us the chance to include a wider range of files than just a map file, and much nicer than a pakrat archive.  Bioh4zard2 will be available via the Addons campaign menu when released, so we thought, why not give you a little extra with it too?

We’d like to include a few new infected skins that will substitute  common infected, this means you should hopefully see a RPD cop bashing you repeatedly in the main hall, while your team mates fight off a tank. Yes Tank, not Tyrant. We will try to ‘add on’ as much custom content as we feel necessary.

I hope this new update to L4D provides fellow campaign creators with much more to play with and hope that make their campaigns much more awesome. Speaking of awesome stuff,  Our friends over at www.ihatemountains.com have been busy with their campaign, which is set in the mountains (no duh), all the current screenshots are just full of win, and I’m itching to see how their spooky manor plays out. Check them out if you haven’t already, its one more campaign to add to your wish list.

Have a good weekend!

Zac

Valve have just updated the SDK for Left4Dead. This brings the new .VPK addon. This is going to be explained via tutorials shortly, however it looks like the game structure for missions files & loading posters have been centralised, so there is no more need for custom maps to overwrite files, which is good. This can only mean great improvements to the community, providing that they know how to take advantage of the new features. This however, should mean that we are able to reskin infected without replacing them, so hopefully you should see us begin development on an RPD infected cop. We plan on to make other skins that resemble RE2 Zombies, possibly even the creepy nude ones towards the end in the labs.  I have added this new announement to the FAQ section.

Just an update on the website, we are currently experiencing issues with the index page for the site. The problem seems to occur in Internet Explorer 7+ Please note that this will be rectified as soon as possible, for the time being we suggest an alternative such as Firefox!
Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience.
UPDATE:
We apparently have a fix for this from our new friend NelSaidI, We will test this out and hopefully restore IE functionality once again. Thank you!
UPDATE
Once again the site is now functional in Internet Explorer (our sources say only 20% of users came through IE) So I hope that you can now see the rest of the page! A big thankyou to NelSaidI for the fix!
