Hi,

I all honesty fellow readers, I had a bit of a level design panic event over the last week or so. Louis was all out of pills, Bill was dead, Zoey severely injured and Francis beginning to hate yet more things. I began rambling on and on about the campaign and the outlook of it all began to look bleak. I took a good long look at the subject, talked to a few friends / team members addressing my concerns of resident evil 2 - left 4 dead. I was worried about how the campaign would end up and what it would reflect upon my portfolio. I’m eager to get my foot into a door of a company, and i began doubting what i would have to bring. However finally realized and confronted my problems and learnt a lot from the past week, mostly to give myself a break and not be too negative towards myself. Yes, production stopped for 1 whole week, but I’m only human (unfortunatley)

I have received a lot of emails regarding testing, I try to reply to them, but it seems like most of you don’t read the FAQ page or even the Testing page! Read carefully about how I go about picking testers, I don’t choose people because of. for example, how many clans they are in!

Thanks

I’d like to start doing things like this, for those of you who might not be aware, the Source Engine Mod ‘NeoTokyo’ has been released a few days ago. I recently downloaded the game at the weekend. All you need is Half-life 2 to play.

The game is striking in both terms of gameplay and visuals. I took control of the game and immediately loved the playstyle. I connected to a server and was able to join a small squad of experienced players, who would propose tactics and provide cover, each looking out for each other.  Its fairly easy to get familiarized with the controls and gameplay, and since I have mastered it, i haven’t been able to put it down.

The game contains special features for each class, such as night vision which really pleased me because i was like “where the hell is the flashlight button!” The things i enjoy so much about this is the environments,I spend a lot of time in spectate mode looking at their maps, checking out the design and layout. Very clever visual effects are added to the game, and their work on lightmaps (shadows) are admirable, especially in the subway. The model and texture work is great also.

In Closing, Neotokyo is a very well designed game, The team are very on top of things, organized,  committed and  a hard working team, who deserve nothing but future acknowledgements for their work. I sincerely hope that someone in the game industry recognizes these guys, from the music composer to the lead coder, all of them a great team. I’ve seen nothing but professionalism.

I highly recomend NeoTokyo to any gamers. The community for the game is great, which is a refreshing change considering the community of other games out there. I look forward to more updates, and more future maps! *hint hint*

Hi,

Things are going very well for us at the moment, thanks to all that supported us and helped us actually exceed our bandwidth for the month! We have some fresh blood on the team who are hard at work for us, including a talented musical artist who is working on our very own soundtrack for the game, safe room music and everything! Expect further news in the upcoming weeks, in the meantime, here is something to look at.

Enjoy!
